When Baby Knowing Her Name

Process of recognizing name for baby is part of her learning. Therefore, it will be very helping if you are talking frequently using her name. For example “John.. what are you looking, Son? Are you looking for your toys, John? What color is it, John? Red, isn’t it, John?…” and so on.


Asking baby to communicate earlier will stimulate her language development and also can help baby to recognize her name easily – according to calling on him/her.


Along with her ability to recognize her name, baby’s language development is going better. At age 5-6 months, the language development of baby has been:

Able to use 3-4 babbles randomly while combining several vowels and consonants. For example “nanana”. Baby also observe your reaction and can mimic your facial expression. That’s way he/she will give response whenever you call her name. The response is in form of facial mimic, light movement such as distracting vision toward on you or even answering your question by this babble.Baby has started to adjust her words with yours through a conversation. Even, baby can spell more vowels and consonants such as f, v, ka, da, ma.

In addition to recognize her name, baby’s social development at age 5 months will be more increasing. It is shown by following example:

Baby will keep smiling when he/she is tempted friendly but he/she will cry if we pretend to scare him/her.Baby will also like to babble while mirroring.Baby at this age generally have been provided with supplement foods, and also starting to show his like or dislike on specific foods. It is occurred as his taste sense has been growing well. Thus, baby has been able to select her foods.

We can see from here that talking to baby will greatly influence her language development. Therefore, try to speak with your baby anytime as frequent as possible.
