People who don’t have allergy would react normally towards the particular substance, but to those with allergy, their immune system would act as if the substance is dangerous and try to build defense against it.

In the effort to fight allergen, they continued, the body produces some chemical substances – including histamine – that generate symptoms of allergy reaction. These chemicals emit various kinds of effects; some of them are to widen the blood vessels, to create nose membrane and to swell the respiratory channel, to trigger glands to produce mucus and to cause the respiratory muscles shrunk.

The cause of allergy itself is various, like allergy of air, allergy of food, etc. In food allergy, according to Daniel Moore, MD, there are types of food that cause the allergy, as quoted from a site about.com. Those foods are cow milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts and seafood.
