Bottle feeding Can Cause Obesity

Do you know why some babies suffer with excess weight? It is due to the prolonged use of bottle-feeding, says a study by scientists from Temple University, USA. Childhood obesity is considered as a new epidemic of the time by the World Health Organization and has become a public health problem.

When fed with a bottle, the baby gets used to consuming more calories than the body needs, causing excess weight as early as the first year of life. Due to the,? prolonged? use of bottle up to two years, parents are getting used to it and? the baby consume a large amount of calories daily.

According to the study a child who consumes three bottles of 240 milliliters of whole milk is consuming 12% more daily calories needed. Therefore, doctors suggest that the time for the babies to drop out the feeding bottles is when your baby is about a year old.

The “bottle effect” as it was called, may be one reason for the association between breastfeeding and lower risk of childhood obesity. In more recent research on the effect of breastfeeding on weight gain, the focus has been on the components of breast milk, such as leptin and adiponectin, which help regulate appetite and metabolism.

But new findings suggest that the form of small food also matters in that direction. The physicians and pediatricians can influence parents to decide what time your children must leave the bottle feed, helping to prevent early tooth decay, obesity and iron deficiency in the body.

Just five minutes of advice about the dangers that prolonged use of bottle-feeding can bring results in a drop of 60% in the number of babies who continue to use the bottle up to two years old.

Doctor’s always give advice to stop using a bottle on the first birthday of the baby. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that the bottle use can be continued until a maximum of 15 months, but many parents and doctors are not aware of this. Many continue to feed their children with bottles till three to four years.

According to the survey, if parents make their children stop using a bottle after talking to there doctor, the advice works. This shows that health professionals can influence the behavior of children before they develop bad habits that would follow throughout their lives.

About 86% of parents who continue to bottle feed their children after two years say they do not make the transition to the glass because the children prefer the bottle. “When the children complete two years, it becomes very difficult for parents to do this change. This needs to happen when the child is younger, and their behavior has changed more easily.

The word PACIFIER is used as synonymous (with controversy) in place of BOTTLE FEEDING. Many beliefs are involved in the use of this accessory, as it could strengthen the muscles of the mouth of the baby, soothe them and to “teach” the better to suck the breast. They became something cultural- the dolls come with teats and some just stop crying if the piece of plastic is embedded in there mouth.

This accessory is absolutely inadvisable. “For centuries babies have lived and lived well without pacifiers. Something that is not natural, can not do well with children,” says the doctor. A major problem is given to the mother, the sucking action required to get the pacifier is different from the movement to suck the breast.

This can cause a “confusion of beak” in which the baby sucking the breast ends up incorrectly, may cause cracks within and even at the risk of withdrawing less milk than they need. “Many mothers come to the clinics said they think their milk is weak and that the baby lives hungry when in fact it is sucking the milk inappropriately,” says the expert.

Moreover, the act of sucking a pacifier may make the child swallow more air, causing gas and cramps , or an infection due to germs in the pacifier. “There are even studies showing that plastic pacifiers could increase the chances of cancer,” added the doctor.

Another negative factor is the orthodontic problems that pacifiers can cause: the dental arch closes, the rise in the palate (pushed by the nozzle), or the teeth are open, dry mouth, due to the constant input of air, thus facilitating onset of decay and the air that enters the mouth contains more impurities as it is not filtered as that which enters the nose, which can cause laryngitis, rhinitis or sinusitis. The movements of the teeth can also cause problems with speech.

It is believed that the pacifier calms the baby. This is absolutely a myth, according to the pediatrician. “The baby stops crying because he is busy with sucking, but many things calmed down, such as candy, so it is not? that parents can offer babies chocolates and candies all the time,”

What is the output for the practice hours of uncontrollable crying or tantrums? There is no practical solution, babies require maximum attention and care not a standard like “crying? Give pacifiers that are better!” says the pediatrician. In complicated cases of colic, it is worth trying to change the position where the baby is lying down or doing the exercise to move his legs in a bicycle motion.

The bottle can bring the same loss, so soon after you stop breastfeeding your child (ideally at around two years) parents should give the glass, instead of bottles. Many parents give the pacifier when the baby is addicted to sucking their thumb.

As compared “Between the finger and pacifier, it is best to leave the child with their finger, not because it brings so many orthodontic complications and infections,” said the expert of SBP. If the child does not want to release the finger let them to take it, because they are not getting addictive to it and not to engage the suction mechanism.

Tips To Design Your Home With Nautical Decorations

Nautical decorations are a type of decor with marine designs. It is a refreshing way of decorating your home with different shades of marine colours such as dark blue, sea green, white and at times a subtle hint of gold. Nautical decorations are fresh and rejuvenating.

Since nautical decorations work with a few colours, they are simple yet very elegant and sophisticated. Nautical decorations are very pleasant to look at with the simplicity of colours and lines and a big advantage is that one is not burdened with too many contrasts and highlights. These decorations are composed of fresh clean lines and they induce a pleasant and soothing atmosphere.

Although inspired by the ocean and its natural colours, nautical decorations are not the same as pirates and underwater designs and motifs. Nautical decorations generally include anything to do with the sea and sailing. While creating a home decor that is entirely inspired by maritime motifs can be intriguing and refreshing, they can also be quite challenging since they are not ordinarily found, that is they are not quite conventional and also because it may be difficult to find the designs and furniture that fit with the marine theme.

Nautical decorations therefore call for a lot improvisation, creativity and resourcefulness. Whereas inducing the maritime spirit is the main thrust of the idea, one does not need to paint boats or anchors on the furniture and walls to bring out the effect of nautical decor.

Nautical decorations are infused with subtle hints of the ocean and the sea. For instance, one can pick solid yet simple pieces of furniture that fall in the category of antiques and work on them with blue cushions, sheets, rugs and so on. Dark maple and brass hardware along with wood furnishings having pine knots remind people of boats. Generally, good quality wood furnishings go a long way in achieving the marine spirit.

The colour palette for nautical decorations

Apart from these, one can coordinate the colour of the rooms with the colours of the furnishings. For instance, if the walls are white, the furniture of dark wood, then one can pick the linen in shades and patterns of blue and green. However, using one key piece of furniture for the room that resembles the nautical theme would help the rest of the decor to fall into the theme. For instance if one wants to hang an anchor made of wood on one wall, then it can be enough to convey the spirit of the nautical decorations.

The colour palette for the room, the decorative pieces, the furniture and the furnishings include dark wood, maple, oak, navy blue, sky blue, yellow, sea green, teal, pink, white and a bit of gold. The right kind of art, especially for the walls and accessories help the furnishings to fit into the theme. For decorating within the theme of nautical decorations, one needs to be able to visualize the room and thus get an idea of where and how the decor would figure to be able to know how to use the palette and place the furniture.

A nautical themed welcome sign immediately sets the mood for the whole home. It can be placed near the doorstep or the entrance or inside the entrance. The welcome sign may be made of wood in the shape of a boat or simple a sign that has an old feel to it such as those found on beaches.

Accessories for nautical decorations

Among the basic things that one can use for nautical decorations are a clock in the shape of a compass (these are not very difficult to find and are great for setting the theme of a room), anchors as wall accessories, boat shaped wall units, furnishings in the colours of a sailor’s habit and so on. Blue and white striped fabric looks great as cushion covers or floor rugs. Rope piping for cushions or curtains hung with brass rods are also good ideas to implement.

Since ropes have a natural look and beauty, one can use them in a number of areas such as to gather curtains, to tie them around flower pots or baskets are some other ideas one can think about. Varnished wooden tables and shelves if placed in a proper manner may suggest the idea of a ship’s deck. If one wants to heighten the theme with extra touches, then oil lamps and candlestick holders can be ideal. Lanterns made of brass also work with the theme of nautical decorations.

Other accessories include pictures of the sea, miniature sailboats, sailboat figurines, and even marine collectibles such as dolphins, starfish, and weather vanes. The living room and patio can be furnished with folding chairs along with ship wheels also look well. A more natural look can be given to the room by the use of bamboo shelves and bamboo wall units.

For the more adventurous, maybe even a sailor’s chest add to theme and make the decor look entirely like something out of a ship. Using a surfboard as decor or even painting waves and murals on a wall looks fantastic. Most importantly, there is no one set method or type of decor for nautical decorations and therefore one has a lot of freedom to be creative and improvise according to one’s own tastes.

However, since the nautical decorations are all about a pleasant and peaceful environment, it is probably best if one does not use too many accessories in one room, the space should never look cluttered. Nautical decorations look best when they have the appearance of simplicity and elegance and while one may think out of the box for a more unconventional decor, it should not look too chaotic. All in all, nautical decorations are unique ways of decorating your home and the best part is that you can customize the decor in any way you wish. It is all about the originality of the one designing the home. So, be creative and apply nautical decoration style to make your place unique.

Ensure that you stick to your routine and do not make much changes in it as any sort of alteration can confuse an autistic child.
